Embarking on a New Chapter, Together We Build Brilliance

Hong Zi Shen, The 3rd President of The AGTHUM

Embarking on a new chapter, together we build brilliance. As the sands of time swiftly pass, our journey began on September 26, 2014, when the Association of Graduates from Tsinghua University Malaysia (AGTHUM) embraced the noble mission of preserving Tsinghua's rich cultural heritage, firmly rooted in this vibrant land.

The inaugural general meeting and board elections on January 10, 2015, marked a pivotal moment, symbolizing a fresh start for the alumni association's organizational development. By February 27 of the same year, in close collaboration with the Tsinghua Alumni Association, the Tsinghua Education Foundation, the APAC Tsinghua CEO CCI, and our fellow Malaysian alumni, we proudly stood under the radiant banner of Tsinghua University, bearing witness to this historic milestone. Gratitude extends to the sagacious leadership of our past two presidents and the wisdom of all past board members, whose guidance laid a robust foundation for the continuous evolution of the alumni association. Special appreciation is reserved for the benevolent care of the university leadership and the alumni association, providing boundless support and encouragement for our journey. Today, the AGTHUM has evolved beyond a mere organization; it is now a cohesive and dynamic family.

Hand in hand, let us create brilliance together. The AGTHUM is dedicated to uniting our alumni, championing Tsinghua's cultural essence, and evolving collectively. Through a spectrum of vibrant activities such as the New Year's and Spring Festival gatherings, the annual Mid-Autumn Festival reunion, and diverse sporting events, we have deepened the bonds among alumni, strengthened friendships, and laid a robust foundation for the future. In this digital era, we actively expand our presence on online social platforms, constructing homepages and groups, and establishing instant communication channels to facilitate seamless information flow.

Striving together, basking in shared glory. In this new era, the AGTHUM shoulders even greater responsibilities. With an elevated spirit and pragmatic actions, we commit to nurturing our alumni community, actively engaging in social welfare initiatives, and fostering innovation for sustained growth. Casting our gaze towards the future, in this new chapter, let us stride forward with unwavering steps, collectively composing a history that shines even brighter. The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, a testament to half a century of friendship and a catalyst for deeper bilateral ties. The end of 2023 saw visa exemptions between China and Malaysia, creating a more convenient conduit for exchanges. Eagerly anticipating more Chinese friends stepping onto Malaysian soil, injecting fresh vitality into the bonds of China-Malaysia friendship and cooperation.

Nurturing the future, painting the Tsinghua vision together. Our focus intensifies on cultivating exceptional Malaysian students. Nearly a hundred young talents embark on their Tsinghua journey each year, not just as students of Tsinghua University but as the future backbone of the alumni association. These dynamic individuals will absorb the nourishment of knowledge during their Tsinghua experience, cultivating outstanding leadership and innovative thinking. We firmly believe that these students will become the pride of the AGTHUM, infusing a continuous stream of strength into our ongoing development. With fervor and anticipation, we extend a call to more outstanding students to actively engage in alumni affairs, collaboratively propelling the growth and development of the alumni association. In this dynamic and opportunistic era, we extend our hands in unity, forging a more brilliant future for the AGTHUM.

Stars may not inquire about passersby, and time may not disappoint those with a heart. May the morrow shine even more brilliantly for the AGTHUM, as we collectively chart a radiant path into the future.
