The 10th AGM

On May 26, 2024, the The Association of Graduates from Tsinghua University (AGTHUM) held its 10th AGM at the TusStar Malaysia headquarters. The meeting attracted over 20 members. In his speech, President Hong Zi Shen outlined the three main visions of the AGTHUM.


Zi Shen stated that the AGTHUM is committed to:

  • Becoming an influential alumni organization globally, providing extensive resources and opportunities for alumni and society.

  • Playing a key role in promoting Malaysia-China relations, fostering friendly relations between the two countries.

  • Offering a platform that supports lifelong learning and development for alumni, enhancing connections and cooperation among them.


Short-term Goals


The short-term goals of the AGTHUM include:

  • Increasing the number of members.

  • Providing services in career development, entrepreneurial support, academic exchange, and social welfare.

  • Enhancing the visibility of the Alumni Association through high-quality activities and projects, building the alumni brand.

  • Supporting and assisting Malaysian students in pursuing their studies at Tsinghua University.


Acknowledgments and Future Outlook


Zi Shen expressed special thanks to the executive committee members, alumni, and all the related organizations including the Tsinghua Alumni Association, TusStar, APAC Tsinghua CEO CCI, and Malaysia Tsinghua Council for their continuous support and assistance. In the coming years, the AGTHUM will focus on international, particularly Malaysia-China, academic and cultural exchanges, and cooperation between enterprises and organizations. At the same time, the AGTHUM will maintain close contact with overseas alumni associations, encouraging more alumni to participate in global project cooperation and exchanges.


Alumni Association Website Launch


The meeting also launched the new Alumni Association website: https://tsinghua.org.my. Developed and managed by the AGTHUM executive committee members, the website aims to be AGTHUM's main hub, keeping a solid record of our history and passing down the legacy for future generations. The website will provide valuable resources, and alumni are invited to submit news and content to improve the website and social media platforms.


Networking Session


After the meeting, over 20 alumni introduced themselves and participated in networking, further strengthening their connections. This meeting clarified the development direction and goals of the AGTHUM, providing a platform for member exchange and cooperation. In the future, the AGTHUM will play a more significant role in Malaysia-China relations and on a global scale.
