The 3rd Zijing Cup Badminton Tournament

On November 26, 2023, the Zijing Cup Badminton tournament hosted by the Association of Graduates from Tsinghua University Malaysia (AGTHUM) concluded successfully. In this competition, the Jinan University team performed exceptionally well, successfully defending their championship title. Lin Lihang and Zhang Wanyi from Jinan University were awarded the Male and Female MVP honors, respectively, for their outstanding performance.

The event invited a total of six teams, including Jinan University, Huaxia Northwest United Team, Zhejiang University, Peking University, Liuhua Team, and the host Tsinghua University, with approximately 60 alumni from various Chinese universities competing for victory.

The event received strong support from alumni associations of Peking University, Jinan University, Zhejiang University, Liuhua Association, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Renmin University of China, China Agricultural University, Beijing Sport University, Communication University of China, Xi'an University of Physical Education, Nanjing Normal University, Wuhan University, Xiamen University, and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.

As advocated by Tsinghua people for a century, "There is no Tsinghua without sports," the importance of sports and a healthy lifestyle among Tsinghua alumni was fully demonstrated in the Zijing Cup. Named after Tsinghua's school flower, the Chinese parasol tree (Zijinghua), symbolizing "unity" and "harmony," the event inherits the spirit of positivity, diligence, unity, and facing challenges together. The purpose of the activity is to promote the Tsinghua sports spirit and provide a common sports platform for Malaysian alumni. In the opening ceremony, Hong Zi Shen, the president of the AGTHUM, called on everyone to engage in sports activities during leisure time, enhance friendships, experience the joy of sports, and congratulated the Zijing Cup for becoming a signature event for Malaysian alumni.

• Runner-up: Huaxia Northwest United Team

• Third place: Liuhua Team, Tsinghua University Team

• Male MVP: Ling Lik Hang (Jinan University)

• Female MVP: Zhang Wanyi (Jinan University)
