Tsinghua Alumni Association Vice President Jiang Shengyao Leads Delegation on Visit to Malaysia

On March 2nd to 5th, 2024, Jiang Shengyao, Deputy Director of the Tsinghua University Academic Affairs Committee and Vice President of the Tsinghua Alumni Association, led a delegation to visit Malaysia. They attended the "China-Malaysia Management Innovation and Cooperation Development Forum" and related activities, visited local research institutions, and had friendly exchanges with Malaysia Alumni Association (AGTHUM). Tian Xingyan, Minister of the Alumni Association's Liaison Department, and Teacher Rui Xuefei also joined this visit.

On March 2nd, the AGTHUM participated in a dinner hosted by the APAC Tsinghua CEO CCI to welcome Professor Jiang, teachers from the Alumni Association, and teachers from the Tsinghua University Southeast Asia Center to Kuala Lumpur for a wonderful time.
In the afternoon of March 3rd, the AGTHUM also attended the "China-Malaysia Management Innovation and Cooperation Development Forum" hosted by the Tsinghua University Southeast Asia Center. Jiang Shengyao delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. The forum invited Professor Wu Jinxi, Long-term Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Social Sciences' Economics Research Institute, and Director of the Strategic Emerging Industries Research Center, as well as Professor Xu Ningning, Chief Business Expert of China-ASEAN, Chairman of the RCEP Industrial Cooperation Committee, and Co-Chairman of the China-ASEAN Business Association, to give keynote speeches. Tan Sri Nelson Tan, President of the APAC Tsinghua CEO CCI, and Dato Woo Swee Lian, founding President, also attended the forum. Liu Zhen, Director of the Tsinghua University Southeast Asia Center and Dean of the Continuing Education College, presided over the opening ceremony.





On the same evening, participants also attended the Chinese New Year dinner hosted by the APAC Tsinghua CEO CCI. Professor Jiang reviewed the cooperation between Tsinghua University and Malaysia in international student work, international cooperation and exchanges over the years, and hoped that in the future, cooperation in academic research, talent training, cultural exchanges, and alumni activities would be further strengthened. Jiang Shengyao, on behalf of Tsinghua University and the Alumni Association, expressed gratitude to the Business Federation for its support to local alumni and extended New Year greetings to local Tsinghua alumni and friends.



In the evening of March 4th, the AGTHUM also held a dinner exchange with Professor Jiang and teachers from the Alumni Association. Jiang Shengyao introduced the latest developments of the university and the Alumni Association, inquired about the recent situation of the alumni participants, and encouraged the alumni to continue to uphold the school motto, cherish their ideals, and make more contributions to local social development and Sino-Malaysian friendship. Alumni participants recalled their experiences during their time at the university, shared their personal development experiences, and introduced the characteristics of the AGTHUM. They expressed their determination to further unite and gather more alumni strength, make every effort to support the common development of alumni and alma mater, uphold the local reputation and global reputation of Tsinghua brand, and contribute to promoting people-to-people exchanges between China and Malaysia.
